Chilli Garlic Chicken Skewers- Laila Ramadan Recipe

Ramadan Special Delicious Turkish inspired recipe, chilli and garlic chicken skewers served on a garlic and herb flat bread with jajik (yogurt and cucumber sauce) red onion and sumac salad, fresh cucumber, tomatoes, grilled onions, tomatoes and lemon.

Method

  • Wash and prepare the chicken, cut into bite-sized chunks, cut your yellow pepper, green pepper and onion the same size.
  • Place the chicken into a clean bowl, add in your spices, Laila chilli and garlic sauce
  • Massage in well and allow the flavours to infuse.
  • Cling film the chicken and marinade for at least 1 hour but the longer you keep it the fridge, the better (upto 24 hours).
  • Soak bamboo skewers in hot water for 10 minutes or alternatively use metal skewers.
  • Thread marinated chicken, yellow/green peppers and onion onto skewers then brush with the remaining marinade.
  • Cook on a very hot griddle pan on the stove for 2-3 minutes per side until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through, approximately 10 minutes in total.
  • Remove from the heat and rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Make sure you’re stovetop cooked is piping hot before adding

  • 1 Green pepper
  • 1 Yellow pepper
  • Medium size white onion
  • Laila chilli and garlic sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp Laila turmeric powder
  • 1 tsbp Laila cumin  powder
  • 1 tsp mixed hot chilli powder
  • Red onion
  • Cucumber Fresh tomatoes
  • Fresh lemon
  • Sumac
  • Greek style low fat yogurt
