Dahi Baray/ Dahi Bhalla- Laila Ramadan Recipe

Dahi Baray is healthy and yummiest starter.
Everyone loves to eat this. I make Dahi Baray in Ramadan and when ever guests are coming to my place. This is my mom’s recipe and I have learnt this from her.

Method

  • Soak daal mash for 1 hour and then grind them.
  • Add salt, red chilly powder, garam masala powder, ginger garlic paste and baking soda, gram flour and make barras from this material.
  • Dip them in normal water after frying .
  • Make a layer of dahi barays on serving dish, then add channay chopped onion, tomatoes fresh coriander leaves and green chilli and potatoes.
  • Then mix yougurt and cream by adding salt, sugea and green chaatni and pour them in serving dish.. sprinkle chaat masala and meethi chatni
  • you can also freeze the Barray for future use

 

Cooking Tips

Add little baking soda and you can store them for future use in freezer

Ingredients

  • Mash daal/ Laila Urid daal 2 cups
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp Laila red chilly powder
  • 1/4 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1/4 tsp Laila ginger garlic paste
  • 3 tbsp gram flour
  • 1 pinch baking soda
  • 2 cups yogurt
  • 1/2 cup Laila chickpeas (soaked and boiled)
  • handful chopped onions, coriander leaves and green chillies
  • 1 boiled and sliced potato
